McKenzie Estep is a trailblazing leader and current Miss Black District of Columbia USA.
Born in Ohio and raised in a small town in North Carolina, she attended Saint Augustine's University, where she was crowned HBCU Queen and served three terms in student government as a political science major.
McKenzie's pageant journey began with the Jabberwock Scholarship Debutante program, sparking her passion for pageantry. She won the Miss Black and Old Gold pageant as a freshman and later became Miss Saint Augustine's University, sweeping multiple awards and placing in the top 10 at the Miss National Black College Hall of Fame. McKenzie also competed for Miss CIAA and supported her King at the Mister HBCU competition, further enriching her experience in HBCU pageantry.
After graduation, she pursued the Miss Black USA title, often referred to as the "HBCU of National Pageantry", achieving First Runner-Up under Crown Bound's guidance.
Now, as an interview strategist and HBCU pageant consultant, McKenzie is committed to guiding aspiring queens to find their voice, perfect their presence, and step confidently into their own greatness.
