Three states. Three queens. One team. Crown Bound Pageant Consulting
Crown Bound Pageant Consulting is proud to have coached the reigning Miss Maryland USA, Holly Plank, Miss DC USA, Kennedy Lucas, and Miss Virginia USA, Justus Kelley, as they earned their state crowns and prepared to represent the DMV on the Miss USA stage.
Tomorrow, Holly Plank, Kennedy Lucas, and Justus Kelley leave for Miss USA, each carrying a different state sash, a different story, and a completely different presence.
And that is exactly what makes this moment so special.
At Crown Bound, we don't believe pageant coaching should create contestants who all look, walk, speak, dress, or compete the same way. Our job is to identify what makes each contestant special, build upon her natural strengths, and help her develop a complete presentation that feels polished, competitive, and authentically her.
Holly, Kennedy, and Justus are three very different women. Their paths to their state crowns were different. Their strengths and styles are different. And because of that, the way we coached each of them was different too.
The Crown Bound flavor was there, but it was always tailored to the queen.
Holly Plank | Miss Maryland USA

Holly's journey to becoming Miss Maryland USA is a story of refinement, persistence, and knowing when you're close enough to the crown that it's time to dig deeper.
After previously placing 4th Runner Up at Miss Maryland USA, Holly already knew she was capable of competing at a high level.
Our work was about taking what was already strong and figuring out what needed to be elevated.
We focused on refining her branding and interview presence while making sure her overall presentation felt cohesive. We wanted the woman the judges met in the interview room to connect seamlessly with the woman they saw onstage.
That meant paying attention to the details, and making sure her presentation had polish and personality, without the overload.
For contestants searching for a Miss Maryland USA and Miss Maryland Teen USA pageant coach, this is an important part of our philosophy at Crown Bound. Sometimes preparing to win isn't about completely reinventing yourself. Sometimes it's about understanding what already works, identifying what's keeping you from the next level, and being intentional about refining it.
Holly returned to the Miss Maryland USA stage and this time, she left with the crown.
Kennedy Lucas | Miss DC USA

Kennedy's journey with Crown Bound has been years in the making.
As a three year Crown Bound Queen, we've had the opportunity to watch her evolve through multiple seasons of preparation.
Our work together has included stage presence, interview coaching, mindset, branding, wardrobe, and developing a message that genuinely reflects who Kennedy is and what she stands for.
For Kennedy, one of the biggest priorities has always been authenticity.
Her experiences, her wellness focus, her personal story, and the woman she has become needed to connect naturally throughout her presentation. We didn't want a "pageant version" of Kennedy to show up for competition.
We wanted Kennedy to show up, just more refined, more confident, and completely prepared.
That same intention carried into how she communicated in interview, how she presented herself onstage, what she wore, and how her overall brand came together.
When someone is searching for Miss DC USA or Miss DC Teen USA pageant coaching, we want them to understand that Crown Bound's approach goes far beyond practicing for competition day. We work to develop the whole contestant so that her presentation feels consistent from the interview room to the stage and beyond.
After years of growth and preparation, Kennedy earned the title of Miss DC USA.
Justus Kelley | Miss Virginia USA

Justus brought an entirely different set of strengths to Crown Bound, which meant she needed an entirely different approach.
Our work together focused heavily on stage presence and developing a presentation that showcased what made her naturally stand out.
We weren't interested in making Justus walk like Holly or present like Kennedy.
We wanted Justus to look like the strongest, most competitive version of Justus.
Through intentional stage coaching and presentation development, we worked on creating moments that felt confident and memorable while still allowing her personality to come through.
That individuality is especially important in our approach to Miss Virginia USA pageant coaching. There is no single walk, pose, turn, or performance style that works for every contestant. Understanding someone's body, personality, strengths, wardrobe, and natural movement all play a role in developing her stage presence.
When Justus stepped onto the Miss Virginia USA stage, the goal was for her presentation to feel like it belonged to her.
She walked away as Miss Virginia USA.
What Makes a Crown Bound Queen?
There may not be one Crown Bound look, but there is a Crown Bound standard.
It’s the details. The polish. The preparation. The ability to command a stage without looking overly rehearsed, walk into an interview room prepared without sounding scripted, and make wardrobe, branding, content, and competition strategy feel like pieces of one complete picture.
Holly, Kennedy, and Justus each carry that Crown Bound flavor in their own way. You won’t see the same walk, wardrobe, personality, or approach, but you will see intention behind every choice.
That is what we want people to recognize when they see a Crown Bound Queen: prepared, polished, authentic, and ready for the job.
Honorable Mention: Victoria Cuartas | Miss Rhode Island USA 2026

Our Crown Bound Queens are making their mark beyond the DMV, too.
We’re also incredibly proud to have coached Miss Rhode Island USA 2026, Victoria Cuartas, a two year Crown Bound client whose journey is another example of what can happen when you come back ready to finish what you started.
After placing 1st Runner Up at Miss Rhode Island USA last year, Victoria returned this year with the crown in sight. For her 2026 preparation, we focused on stage presentation and mindset coaching, sharpening how she showed up onstage while making sure she was mentally prepared to step back into the competition with confidence.
She came back, finished the job, and earned the title of Miss Rhode Island USA 2026.
We’re so proud to have Victoria representing the Crown Bound family as she heads to the Miss USA stage alongside our DMV queens.

Our services include pageant interview strategy & coaching, runway & stage presence coaching, wardrobe consulting, personal branding, platform development, social media and content strategy, mindset coaching, and overall competition preparation.

Because we've seen firsthand that there isn't only one type of woman who can win.
This year, three very different Crown Bound Queens proved it.
Now it's time to show the Miss USA stage what the DMV is bringing.
Holly Plank, Miss Maryland USA.
Kennedy Lucas, Miss DC USA.
Justus Kelley, Miss Virginia USA.
Three completely different women.
Three completely different journeys.
Three state crowns.
One coaching team behind them.
